In the last six months in DRC and in Ghana, the telecoms industry has changed significantly.
In each of these countries, two of the operators (in each country, Hello Tigo:) have hired women as CEO’s. That’s four female CEO’s in the last 8 months. Just a couple of years ago, I was the only female Chief Marketing Officer in the industry (in Ghana) and today the landscape has shifted. What’s changing? There are several reasons and the obvious takeout is that there are definitely more opportunities for women even in industries that have been typically male dominated. The real message has more to do with insight and shifts in trends.
There are so many changes happening all around us and in order to take advantage of untapped opportunities, in order to differentiate (be it yourself or a business) you must be aware and prepared. So what’s changing around you? Are you aware? Are you prepared? Have a great weekend
